Specialist in laboratory medical genetics.<\/p>\n

Graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy majoring in: Medical Analytics at the Medical University of Lodz.<\/p>\n

He began his professional career in the Department of Immunology and Allergology at the Medical University of Lodz, dealing with the use of molecular biology and genetics techniques in the identification and verification of the genetic basis of asthma, allergy and aspirin intolerance.<\/p>\n

In 2004-2007, he completed a research internship at the reference diabetes center – Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston, receiving a prestigious American Diabetes Association Mentorship.
\nDuring his internship, he received numerous trainings in state-of-the-art laboratories and hospitals in the techniques of expression analysis, genotyping and sequencing of genetic material, and the use of bioinformatics tools in molecular laboratories.<\/p>\n

Since October 2013, he has been the head of the Department of Clinical and Laboratory Genetics at the Medical University of Lodz, Poland.<\/p>\n

He is the principal investigator and co-investigator of more than a dozen projects of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the author or co-author of dozens of scientific publications. His work has resulted, among other things, in the discovery of a new gene – B-lymphocyte tyrosine kinase – responsible for one form of monogenic diabetes, currently classified as MODY 11.<\/p>\n
