Description

Since 1988, he was an employee of the Department of Pediatrics of the Silesian Medical University, within which he co-founded the Cytogenetic Laboratory and the Genetic Clinic. Since 2006, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics and Neurology of the Developmental Age, and now at the Department of Child Neurology of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice.

He specializes in disorders of the nervous system with a genetic basis, especially neuromuscular diseases and mitochondrial diseases.

Author and co-author of numerous scientific publications. Winner of awards from the Rector of the Silesian Medical University for scientific and teaching achievements. Maintains extensive contacts with renowned genetic centers at home and abroad. Member of the Scientific Council of the Association of Alternating Haemiplegia of Childhood (AHC).

Dr. Pilch belongs to numerous scientific societies at home and abroad, including:
